A superb pair of barrel-shaped porcelain garden seats, exquisitely painted in rich famille rose enamels of outstanding quality. Each seat features finely detailed panels:

One with mandarin ducks and koi amidst lotus blooms, symbols of marital harmony and abundance.

The other with birds perched among blossoming peonies and chrysanthemums, representing prosperity, nobility, and the seasons.

The painting is executed with exceptional precision and fluency, displaying naturalistic rendering of feathers, scales, and florals with remarkable depth of shading and vibrant color.

Both are adorned with rows of raised gilt bosses, intricate diaper and fretwork borders, and richly patterned geometric panels at the base. The balance of ornament, symbolism, and technical mastery places these examples among the more refined garden seats produced for the export and domestic elite markets of the late Qing period.
